Marc Meneau, the son of a peasant and a saddler from the village of St Père, with a deep love of his native land and all that it can give, planted his vineyard around the hill of Vézelay with the grape varieties of Pinot and Chardonnay.
He produces some 20,000 to 30,000 bottles of his impressive appellation, Bourgogne VĂ©zelay, drunk as an aperitif, which is sold to restaurateurs and wine connoisseurs in his shop at L’EspĂ©rance.
